A Danish national, Søren Hansen is an independent research specialist and interculturalist with a degree in history and cultural studies.
His main professional focus has been on issues relating to national and social identity, as well as cultural processes and images.
Søren Hansen has been engaged at the University of Southern Denmark, Centre for Cultural Studies. He has also worked as an academic consultant to the Copenhagen Institute for Bilingualism and Education.
He is experienced in conducting and evaluating attitudinal surveys on these and related subjects.
Søren writes for publication on cultural and historical subjects as well as on themes relating to expatriation, and is a regular contributor to the website Ddansk.com.
In addition to expatriation, his main areas of research are bilingualism, cultural identity and citizenship. He speaks excellent English and good Dutch in addition to Danish.
