An experienced English-language editor, reporter and writer, Richard Hill has worked on a wide range of pan-European programmes and projects. He has 20 years’ experience as the editor of a series of multilingual magazines and newsletters. Currently he is editor of Synergy, the DG Informatics newsletter on eGovernment, and of the AmCham Business Journal, the magazine of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hill drafts and edits texts for annual reports, brochures, position papers, websites, PowerPoint presentations and speeches. His work in the private sector has included assignments for a wide range of organisations: Alcatel, DuPont, ExxonMobil, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Scottish Enterprise, and the US Mint among others. Recent EC-related assignments have included projects for DGs Education & Culture, Development, EuropeAid, Employment, Environment, Research and for various Commission agencies (OSHA, the European Patent Office, and the He is author of a number of books on European cultures – notably We Europeans, EuroManagers & Martians, Sharks & Custard, and The Art of being Belgian – and also acts as a ghostwriter for other authors. Richard Hill speaks fluent English and French, good German and Spanish, and has reading competence in Dutch and Italian.
