The Contribution of Multilingualism to Creativity

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) has commissioned a study on the "contribution of multilingualism to creativity". The study will cover all 27 EU Member States as well as Norway and Turkey.

It is researched with the assistance of a Core Scientific Research Team and a Core Field Research Team as well as academics participating as country experts from 29 European countries.

Europublic is also running the secretariat and the communications desk for this project.

The aim of this project is to examine and validate the contribution of multilingualism to creativity. Other important objectives of the project will be a) to contribute to the debate launched around the 2009 European Year of Creativity and b) to provide support for a wide dissemination of the findings.

A specially created website www.cream2008.eu will present the data and recommendations on a national and European level in the Final Report and its annexes, in English, German and French, once the study is completed.

This study is an initiative of the European Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture, Multilingualism.
