Oscar van Weerdenburg

A Dutch national and graduate of Amsterdam and Heidelberg universities, Oscar van Weerdenburg started his career as a lecturer at the University of Amsterdam.
Oscar van Weerdenburg
His work with Fons Trompenaars started in 1992 when he acted as trainer and consultant to a wide range of international companies, including AT&T, British Airways, Dresdner Bank, Interbrew, JonesLangLaSalle, Motorola, Nissan, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Thomson. In October 2002 he joined Trompenaars Hampden-Turner as a senior consultant.

Oscar assists companies in their merger processes, using a range of instruments to analyse the dilemmas they face due to their different corporate and national cultural backgrounds. He helped a Dutch multinational integrate the Dutch and Belgian parts of its organisation by analysing the organisational differences and associated national cultural differences, and by developing scenarios on the cultural issues to be managed, depending on different degrees of integration.

Throughout his career, Oscar has held more than 1,000 workshops and presentations on analysis and reconciliation of cultural differences for over 40 multinationals. He has lectured at the international MBA programs of the Michigan Business School and the Rotterdam School of Management, and the Executive Education Programs of INSEAD.
