Jane Szita

A British journalist resident in Amsterdam, Jane Szita studied English at Oxford University before embarking on a career as a writer and editor. Having contributed to the influential Electric Word magazine with Wired founder Louis Rossetto, and the cult AJane Szitanglo-Dutch magazine Mediamatic, she has written widely on technology, media and society for a number of magazines, websites and organisations. Jane has also been a regular contributor to the European Commission’s IST Results website, and has worked on a number of other EC projects.

Jane Szita reports on Dutch news for the Sunday Times in the UK, is a contributing editor to the architecture and design magazine Dwell, and writes regularly on social trends for the award-winning inflight magazine, Holland Herald, for whom she is also a travel writer. She also edits a client magazine for a European paper company covering all aspects of paper-based media, and contributes to a variety of trade, client and consumer magazines on subjects as diverse as private banking and the art market.

Jane also counts several NGOs among her clients, including the Foundation for Achieving Seamless Territory in Israel (FAST), Hivos, and MicroNed, for whom she works on annual reports, brochures, exhibition “newspapers” and websites. She has worked as managing editor of Doors of Perception, the think tank on design, the environment and society, and is currently a correspondent for the Dutch centre for e-culture expertise, Virtual Platform. Jane speaks fluent Dutch.
